Great food only bad thing was closed mondayI was in town 2 mornings sunday and monday McDonald's didnt come close

Great small town diner that had a 99/100 state rating for safety, good food, reasonable prices, and courteous staff. The only 'odd' thing would be the 1970s decor, but at least it is well maintained and clean.

Genuine good southern cooking. We had country fried steak. Very tasty. Mashed potatoes were real and flavorful. White gravy, yum. Plus, they had chess pie. I have never seen any place that had chess pie. So I had to have it. I was not disappointed. They make it in house, even the crust. I would for sure stop here again.

Great little eatery, with awesome prices. They have a decent three page menu with breakfast lunch and dinner options. Our party is a bit difficult, and we each built our meals, substituting, adding, and then of course changing everything last second.. and the waitress handled it all with a friendly smile and (a seemingly) genuine laugh. I ordered an omelet (pictured) with all veggies, chicken, and jalapeños, and it was really good. Not over cooked on any of the veggies so they were still crisp, and the eggs didn’t have that grease-coating you usually get from a diner. Huge plus for me.The bathrooms are up to par, though only single serving. Fully-filled soap dispenser, paper towels and air dryer if you so choose. The toilet was clean, the mirror wasn’t gang-tagged, and it smelled okay.If you’re looking for that country spot to eat, talk, and kick back for a bit - this is going to be the place for you. On your way out, go ahead and get yourself some of their delicious fudge pie!

Awesome service to outsiders and awesome food!!!! Country bacon the bomb!!! Biscuits and gravy were awesome! Hash browns with jalapeno and cheddar cheese! Fabulous!

What a wonderful place we have found for a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner. The waitresses treat everyone so friendly!

The lunch & dinner barely warrant a 3 star rating. The desserts are a 4 star. The anytime breakfast is a solid 5. The service varies but is far from stellar ; they could be better organized. If you are familiar with Wendell Smith's off Charlotte then CJR is very similar. Great meat & threes are hard to find & I'm still looking.

They have amazing food! coleslaw is the best I've ever had..its called country slaw. I believe this place is called, Family Restaurant. That's what the outside sign says.

It wadnt good. I got sick. They didnt cook my steak right n food was cold. I wished I would have went somewhere elese to eat. After I sent the steak back it still wasnt done. After that the waitress never came back to offer us nothing elese to drink. I had to get another waitress. I was very dissatisfied n wont never eat there again

The waitresses Katie & Jessica are the best.. they always have a smile.... Food is always fresh... pies & cakes are just like Momma made at home... The plate lunch specials are to die for... prices are where they should be... don't drive by... it's the place to eat at.. I enjoy once or twice a week 😁

I like going there as their food is good and the girls who work there are always nice and friendly. So now, I go once a week. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays. There food is just great.

We went on Friday when they offer an all you can eat catfish dinner. It was around 2 pm when we arrived. They weren't too busy, but the service was extremely slow. The fish was excellent. Nice crispy large filets. However I can't say much for the sides. The hush puppies were not good at all, doughy in the middle and not crispy at all. We also ordered slaw and turnip greens. The greens were ok and the slaw wasn't very good either. Too runny and dripping mayonnaise. So if fried catfish is what you are looking for you can get your fill of it. Just don't expect much to go with it.

A girlfriend of mine use to work there and my car club meet there on a few occasions the food was always good and of course I may be partial but the service was great!

Sometimes u get nice fast service. Menu n hr have shortened. But u can get breakfast, sandwiches, dinners, desserts... And most of the time it's all good.

Terrible! We waited over 30 minutes for our cold food that sat on a plate of grease and 15 more minutes for a refill! The "waitress" never asked if the $40 worth of food, that still sat on the table, was ok or if she could help us with anything. Horrible experience I will not go back.

Large portions. Good biscuits and gravy. A SERIOUS local place. We had breakfast, but the pies looked fabulous. Decor/restrooms probably haven't been updated since it was opened 30 years ago, but it was very clean.

My favorite eatery in the area. Great food served by friendly, courteous ladies. Clean and comfortable. Our favorite “after church meal”place. Highly recommended by my wife and I.

Great service, food was excellent (The fried cornbread is a must try). Prices are fantastic. Daily selection for their meat and three (a steal 7.50) option.

Had the patty melt and onion rings. Was pretty impressed. Rings were tasty and patty was moist. Nice gal at the register, genuine southern diner atmosphere. Will return if in the area. Might even return for breakfast.

Good southern style food and lots of homemade desserts at good prices

Just moved to the area, I’ve been twice this week. Once for breakfast, once for dinner. This is real southern home-cooking. Excellent variety, which is great with kids because everybody in my family can find something they want. The desserts are outstanding and more variety for cakes and pies than anyplace around! The prices are very competitive as well.

Food is always fast to the table, fresh and like momma made it. Best desserts going. Love this place
